I like the MK2 (A60), myself. Post your favorite Supras and your reasons why!

Roof wing makes it the best.
EDIT: I went and found the one I looked at. Broke college me went for a cheaper SC400 though.

Agreed, love those 80s flares. Not the fastest thing but it’s a very usable and loveable car I think.

I like the MK3

Yep, this one. It has everything an 80's boy could ever want. Angles, wings, flares, popups, even louvers. So good on meaty sidewalls too. I had a Corgi model of one as a little kid, and have wanted a real one ever since.

A70 Mk3 because clean lines and first year of the JZ engines into it. I plan to buy one and 2JZ/R154 swap it to race my cousin, who got a 1986 300ZX that’s LS swapped from his dad. They challenged me, well consider that challenge accepted. Americanized 300ZX vs beyond JDM A70? I plan on winning

All about the MK2

MK 2 for me. When I was a freshman in high school, I had a crush on a girl who drove a MK 2. She was in college and her parents were much wealthier than we were. I was crushed when she fell for my science teacher. He was my hero at the time, so it was fitting that he got the girl.

I’m all about the Mk3. Had a kind of crappy one briefly in college. Bought it with a friend (bad idea) as an autocross lolz car. Well friend backed out and I was in grad school with no money to finish it (
needed tires that weren’t cracked and deflating) so I got rid of it for something I could drive.
But dear everything good and holy, it was awesome. Mild turbo upgrade and exhaust. Sounded like everything a supra should sound be. That noise alone is enough reason for me to want another. Even if the highway drone gave me a headache in 15 minutes or less.
My dream is to get another Mk3 turbo, and get it to be a solid 450hp tourer. The pop-up headlights, the long hood and looks, comfy seats, the climate control AC/Heat (ON AN CAR FROM 88?!).
Of course their prices have gone up significantly within a year of me selling it, so idk when it’ll be able to happen.

My dad had a 2 tone blue 84 Supra. It was cool. The mk4 is the best numbers and fanciest but I have a bit of sentimental connection to the mk2.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly.

Why 2JZ swap?
The 7M is more than enough engine to take an LS.

MKIII, mildly modded.
It’s the perfect mix of understated beauty, performance, and sounds.

the lack of mkIV fanyboying puts my heart at ease that oppo has its head on right.
I get genuinely annoyed reading comments on instagram about how “supra is the best, you don’t understand” “this new supra is a disgrace to the old one” “it’s a bmw!”
all when:
a. 99% chance none of the kids have driven an mkIV
b. 99% chance they never will
c. couldn’t afford a new supra if they even wanted to

It’s a cheap ass Supra, too. Any combination of the correct numbers will open it. If combo is 4321, then 1234, 2341, etc. will open the lock box.

I can never decide between this or the 3rd gen (a70?).

Because why the hell not? He's going peak America underneath so I might as well go peak JDM, plus I won't blow a head gasket while racing lol

Fix the HG, go smoke him. Far more impressive to smoke him with the original engine than needing an engine swap to do it.

I think the one which hits my personal tastes the most would be the JZ A70.
It’s a sweet middle ground between the style of the A60, and sheer performance of the A80 . These were the original twin-turbo Supras. As an interesting side note , they saw much usage in Japan during the foundation of the drift scene. Headlights go up, headlights go down.
